About the Role
In this role, you will respond to HMRC/Revenue enquiries, draft high-quality responses, engage directly with company directors and technical specialists, handle some general administrative duties, and take part in mediation processes.
In This Role, You’ll Engage In:
Client Communication: Act as the primary and secondary point of contact for clients dealing with R&D tax-related disputes.
Case Analysis and Strategy Development: Assess each client’s situation to determine the most effective resolution strategy.
Preparation of Supporting Documents: Prepare all required documentation to support a client’s case, including financial disclosures, detailed client narratives, and explanation letters.
Correspondence with HMRC/Revenue: Represent clients before HMRC/Revenue, acting as an intermediary to clarify issues, respond to enquiries, and advocate for the client’s interests.
Negotiations and Advocacy: Negotiate directly with tax officers to resolve disputes and secure settlements.
Research for Specific Cases: Conduct thorough research on relevant tax regulations and use industry knowledge to craft effective solutions tailored to each client’s situation.
Managing Multiple Cases: Handle a portfolio of client cases, balancing deadlines and ensuring each client receives prompt attention and updates on their case status.
Document Management: Maintain detailed records for each client, tracking communications, documentation, and the status of ongoing negotiations.
Exceptional candidates may have
Background in Law, Tax/accounting, Psychology or Sociology.
Studying or Qualified ACCA/ACA
Experience or a keen interest in ADR
Previous experience working with or interacting with HMRC/Revenue (advantageous but not essential).
Strong analytical and written communication skills.
Client-facing experience (highly advantageous).

Interview process
After submitting your application, we will review your CV. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 15-minute phone call during which we will ask some basic questions. If you clear the initial phone interview, you will enter the main process.
A 15–20-minute Teams interview with the recruitment team. The interview is recorded and will be shared with the hiring manager for review. We advise you to take the time to properly prepare.
A final stage in person interview at the office, at which the role you have applied for is based. We sometimes require a third stage, but this is rare.
Our goal is to finish the process within 7-10 days.
